DoodleChat ("the App") is a peer-to-peer drawing and messaging platform. We are committed to protecting user privacy. This policy explains how we handle your information.
DoodleChat does not collect, store, or share any personal information. * We do not have accounts or logins.
We do not use external servers to store your drawings.
We do not use third-party analytics (like Google Analytics or Facebook) to track your behavior.
DoodleChat works by connecting two devices directly over a local WiFi network.
Local Discovery: The App uses Network Service Discovery (NSD) to find other players nearby.
Direct Transfer: When you send a "Doodle," the image is transferred directly from your device to your friend's device via a secure local socket. This data never leaves your local WiFi network.
To provide the core gameplay, DoodleChat requires the following permissions:
Camera: Allows you to take photos to use as a background for your doodles.
Local Network/WiFi: Necessary to find and connect to other players on the same network.
Storage: Used only to temporarily cache the image while it is being drawn or sent.
Images sent via DoodleChat are "ephemeral." Once the session is closed or a new drawing is started, the previous data is cleared from the app's temporary memory. We do not maintain a history of your chats or drawings.
DoodleChat is designed to be a safe environment. Because we collect zero personal data and do not have a public "global" chat (only private local connections), the App is fully compliant with the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA).
